USAID - PFAN :  Walk-Through Energy Audit of Selected Sugar Mills in the Visayas
2013 April to September
A joint project between the Private Financing Advisory Network and the Philippine Sugar Miller's Association commissioned the partnership of CETI Philippines and Aiai Energy Associates, Co., Ltd. (Japan) to conduct a walk-through energy  audit of one muscovado sugar mill and three sugar mills in Negros Island.  The study shows that phased implementation of energy efficiency projects, concluded with replacing current power generation systems with high efficiency, high temperature systems will result in 3x up to 7x more power generation than the present systems, depending on which technology is utilized.  This would allow sugar mills to export power to the grid, as an added business and as contribution to the power supply issues in the country.
